Clarified butter roasted semolina with added sugar syrup and crushed strawberry.
Ingredients
  • Semolina / sooji / rava - 100 gms (1/2 cup , 3.55 oz)
  • Clarified butter (ghee) - 1 tbsp
  • Sugar - 70 to 75 gms ( ~1/3 cup or according to sweet preference)
  • Water - 1¼ cup (~250 ml)
  • Crushed strawberry - 8-10 strawberry
  • Nuts of your choice
Instructions
  1. Dry roast semolina (sooji) on medium to low heat ~5-7 mins.
  2. Add Ghee (clarified butter) in the pan then add dry roasted semolina into it and roast it again for 2-3 mins.
  3. Take another pan and make syrup for sheera by adding water and sugar into it. Once it is hot enough then add crushed strawberry into it. (You can do this meanwhile when you are roasting semolina.)
  4. Now add this hot syrup into ghee roasted semolina and mix it well but be cautious while adding syrup into it.
  5. Cover it with the lid and keep it there on the low flame for ~5-7 mins.
  6. After that switch of the flame and let it sit for 2-3 mins more.
  7. Finally, add some nuts of your choice, give desired shape to it with the use of mold and serve it warm.
Notes
You can dry roast semolina in advance for making this recipe more quick.

You can add roasted coarsely grinded oats with sooji to increase nutrition value.

You have to just dissolve sugar into boiling water no thread consistency of sugar syrup required in this recipe.

Take mold of modak give it a shape of modak and stuff roasted nuts in between.
